Art is where you find it.
The San Francisco Bay Area is a cultural center with deep roots in individualism, diversity and self-expression – an undercurrent of creativity that sets us apart from other cities and gives the Bay Area it’s universal appeal.
Since the first boom of the 1850s, diverse groups from gold miners to Chinese laborers, beatniks, hippies, Eastern mystics, entrepreneurs, computer techies and free spirited artists have all made their home here and generated new forms of art and expression which have become a significant part of our civic identity.
The essence of San Francisco Bay Area lies in creativity and expression, whether witnessed in a classical performance hall, a black box theatre or in the Mission galleries. ArtSFest celebrates the dynamic and diverse nature of the San Francisco Bay Area’s arts scene in its annual exhibition of arts presenters.
ArtSFest furthermore:
- Celebrates all of the creative arts (multi-disciplinary)
- Provides a platform for the exciting new voices of emerging artists
- Helps develop new audiences and revenues for arts presenters
- Promotes the city’s artistic culture to attract visitors here annually
- Brings together the collective efforts of the arts and business community
- Elevates the importance of the arts in our community/society
As its cornerstone program, ArtSFest 2007 is an annual citywide, multi-genre “Celebration of the Arts” showcasing the entire art spectrum, from the emerging artist to art professionals, from the Mission to Downtown, from Northbeach to SOMA, from the Fillmore to Chinatown, from Uptown to the studios and back, ArtSFest 2007 will fill the streets and over 100 traditional and non-traditional venues of San Francisco for three-and-a-half art-charged weeks, May 3-28, 2007.
ArtSFest 2007 will bring to the public forefront all the arts, design and diverse creativity of San Francisco Bay Area packaged in a unique inspirational celebration that encompasses and showcases all major artistic genres and the artists/arts organizations that call the Bay Area home.
ArtSFest 2007 will help further connect the public more deeply to the art around us; help us appreciate and celebrate it more fully and further encourage our support and patronage. |
